The sector's solidity is not a coincidence. Costa Rica is home to over 95 medical device companies, employing more than 58,000 professionals. Medical devices have become the country's number one export product, representing 44% of total goods exports in 2024. Furthermore, Costa Rica attracted 52% of all new foreign direct investment (FDI) in the medical industry in Latin America in 2024 and ranks as the third-largest recipient of FDI projects in medical devices globally over the last five years, according to Procomer data. These figures demonstrate Costa Rica's role as a diversified and specialized center for advanced manufacturing, driven by a highly qualified workforce.

The main objective of this alliance is to manage a series of key events that promote networking and knowledge exchange. The implemented initiatives include:
- Costa Rica MD Summit:ㅤThe sector's most important event in Costa Rica, which seeks to connect and foster the community through a day full of talks, stands, and meet & greets with OEMs.
- The Cluster Women's Breakfast: A space designed to empower women leaders in the industry, from different positions and companies, with the objective of being a safe space.
- Events for Working Groups: Focused meetings that address specific, high-value topics for the industry, such as: Human Resources, Logistics, Research & Development, Tariffs, among others.
